More About the Islamic Curriculum

Introduction in Islam is given to all learners and attendance at these classes is compulsory for all. The Association of Muslim Schools syllabus is offered as a package from Grade 1 to Grade 12. Textbooks designed for learners are handed out to learners and will be charged to their fees account. The syllabus has been designed to meet the spiritual, social and intellectual needs of the learners at different stages. It is our prayer to create God-conscience Muslims by Grade 12 level. The Principals and Islamic Studies Educators are always available to meet parents to discuss areas of concern. Learners are encouraged to practice what they learn in every aspect of life.

Religious Studies

Religious Studies is taught from an early stage and is based on Islam

Arabic and Qur'aan.

The cornerstone of our education is the emphasis on the Arabic language and the Qur’an. Children from as early as Grade R are introduced to the Arabic language, and this development of the language is continued through to senior level. The Qur’an is taught by qualified practitioners in the traditional science of Tajweed. All learners are encouraged not only to memorize as much of the Qur’an as they are able to by rote, but also to understand the meaning of the verses and ensure that they implement its principles and rules on a holistic basis, in all spheres of their lives.
